The History Of The Incredible Vaduz

Vaduz is a small town and is the capital of Liechtenstein. The town is home to the Archdiocese of Vaduz and is also considered the country’s financial hub. Did you know that the town was mentioned in a twelfth-century document named “Farduzes”? However, historians differ from believing that the town was found not until the thirteenth century by the Counts of Werdenberg. A castle was built in the fourteenth century, which is said to be sacked by the Swiss in the fifteenth century.

The castle was later purchased by the Liechtenstein family that contained Vaduz’s countship and the Herrschaft of Schellenberg. Reichstag is a group like that of Parliament, which is formed by the Roman Empire. The Liechtenstein family was able to capture a seat in the group. These seats, however, were only available for landowners. When the Roman empire came to know about the purchase, they decided to unite the two pieces of land and named it Liechtenstein. The territory was now a member of the Roman Empire. However, when the Roman Empire dissolved, the prince got the lands’ full power; even today, the royal family is considered the head of the land. Later, in the 19th century, a government was appointed by the Royal family.
